Powder Room Makeover #oldhome #beforeandafter

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

With the Coronavirus keeping us at home, I've finally found the time to finish our own main floor #bathroom. Everyone is well for the time being, and am hoping the same for your family.

This project was a total redo, except for the plumbing which remained in its place. I hope you enjoy this #beforeandafter transformation, and find some inspiration for your next project!

OUR GOALS

There was a shower stall in this room that was never used. The wall panelling had to go, and we needed a sink with some storage so the hunt for a nicer bathroom vanity began.

Our aim was to bring basic features like the floors, window & door trims back to what they might have been like in the early 20th century. This house is from the 1920's and has a few Craftsman features, so we are slowly replacing whatever architectural details have been removed over the years.

AFTER

After

Floor-to-ceiling white subway tile + wall sconces

This piece was our dining room sideboard that we converted into a bathroom vanity

Wall-mounted faucet

Geometric-pattern wallpaper in rose gold and grey

An original @EmelineVillledary piece, also seen is the era-appropriate door casing

And there you have it! We're very happy with the final result.
